Privacy and cookie notice

Last updated: 8 October 2026

This notice applies to the website borderless-legal-bulgaria.com (the "Website"). It explains how personal data is handled by automated means when you use the Website: what is saved in your browser, which outside services are loaded and where the messages you send us go.

This page is both the privacy notice and the cookie notice of Borderless Legal; the rules on cookies are an inseparable part of it. Please read it with care. It matters for two things: how your personal data is processed, and which legal rights the General Data Protection Regulation gives clients.

I. Who the data controller is

The Website belongs to Borderless Legal, a law firm. Its registered address is 51 Solunska St, city centre, 1000 Sofia, Bulgaria. Wherever this notice says "Borderless Legal", "we" or "us", it means that firm.

We process the personal data that reaches us through the Website, its functions and its content, and we do so on valid legal grounds.

II. Cookies and local storage in brief

A cookie is a small packet of information that a website sends to your device during a visit. Websites in general use cookies to work properly, to remember preferences such as a chosen language, to recognise a returning visitor and to collect statistics.

Browsers also offer local storage, a place where a website can keep a small item on your device. The Website sets no cookies of its own and keeps a single item in local storage.

III. The banner on your first visit

The first time you open the Website in a browser, a banner appears at the bottom of the screen. It tells you that the site keeps one preference in your browser and loads a few outside services, and it links to this page.

The banner only informs. Pressing "OK" closes it and switches nothing on. The Website then saves an item called cookieconsent_status in your browser's local storage, so the banner is not shown to you again.

IV. What is stored and which outside services are used

The Website itself sets no cookies. It does not use Google Analytics, and it uses no other analytics, advertising or marketing technology.

Your browser's local storage holds one item from the Website. Its only purpose is to remember that you dismissed the notice banner:

# Item Set by Kind Duration
1 cookieconsent_status borderless-legal-bulgaria.com Local storage item, not a cookie Persistent

A few services run by other companies are also involved:

  • Google Fonts. The fonts on the Website are loaded from Google Fonts. When they load, Google's servers receive your IP address.
  • Google Maps. A Google Maps map is embedded on the Contact page. When that map loads, Google may set cookies of its own.
  • Formspree. An enquiry sent through the contact form, or a testimonial sent through the testimonial form, is transmitted through Formspree, a form-processing service. Formspree forwards it to us by email.
  • WhatsApp. The WhatsApp button does nothing until you click it. A click opens WhatsApp.

V. Controlling cookies in your browser

The Website has no cookie settings of its own, because it sets no cookies. Any cookies Google may set when the map on the Contact page loads are controlled in your browser. Most browsers let you accept, restrict or block cookies; these guides explain how:

If you clear the data your browser holds for the Website, cookieconsent_status is deleted as well. The notice banner will then appear again on your next visit.

VI. Effective date, governing law and contact

This notice is effective as of 8 October 2026.

It was drawn up under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Regulation 2016/679/EU, which also governs it. Where the GDPR does not apply, the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria govern this notice.

A change in the applicable law, the GDPR included, may oblige us to amend this notice. Should that happen, we will let you know at the email address you gave us.

For information or help with how your data is processed, or to exercise your rights as a data subject, write to us at office@borderless-legal-bulgaria.com.
